Our Journey

Since 2010, the Africa Food Systems Forum has been an annual gathering held in different regions of Africa, with evolving themes. Heads of State, Ministers, business leaders, development partners, thought leaders, farmers, youth, and other stakeholders come together to focus on actionable measures and policies to drive the continental agenda forward. Over time, the Africa Food Systems Forum has expanded its scope to include a greater emphasis on food systems and integrated approaches, government engagement, reporting and accountability, and mobilizing the private sector.

Since 2022, AGRF has been rebranded to Africa's Food Systems Forum to reflect the partnership's ambition for food system transformation.
Under Kofi Annan's influential leadership, the AGRF relocated to Africa under AGRA, signifying a commitment to engage African stakeholders in driving agricultural transformation. Since 2010, the annual AGRF Summit has been convened in different African regions, gathering Heads of State, Ministers, business leaders, development partners, farmers, youth, and more.
