Edith Kirumba

Programme Officer Environment and climate, IFAD

Edith is an Environment and Climate Specialist working with IFAD and based in the Sub regional hub in Nairobi, Kenya. Her primary role is to ensure that environment and climate considerations are mainstreamed in IFAD’s projects in the Eastern and Southern Africa region, and that these projects apply adequate environment and social safeguards to mitigate potential risks. Edith holds a PhD. In Human Geography (University of Bordeaux III, France), a Masters degree in Environmental Studies and a Bachelors in Environmental Studies and Community Development from Kenyatta University, Kenya. She has over ten years of regional experience working with international institutions to deliver development projects that are environmentally sustainable and climate resilient.
