Dr Alex Ariho
CEO of the African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN)
Dr Alex Ariho is the CEO of the African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN) that operates in 55 African countries. He holds a PhD in Development Management and specialised in agribusiness value chain development. Alex is global expert in business incubation and business modelling for job and employment creation with special focus on youth, women and start-ups in agribusiness.
Alex Ariho is a World CSR winner of Africa Green Leadership Award 2017. He has worked and served as an international consultant/Adviser /Expert Panel member with World Bank Group, African Development Bank, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and African Union among others on agriculture and agribusiness incubation for job and employment opportunities creation.
Alex is the lead development expert for African Agribusiness Incubation Program (AAIP), Agribusiness Incubation Fund (AAIF), African Agribusiness Incubators Network, Excel Hort Consult Ltd and both institutions and programme now operate at global level.
Before AAIN, Alex worked with the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) as UniBRAIN facility coordinator responsible for technology commercialisation and business incubation in Africa He has worked as Chief Executive officer and President of Excel Hort Consult ltd. Alex has worked with International Development, Private Sector and Research Organisations in senior managerial positions some include WWF/Nature Uganda, ICRAF, and UNDP -African 2000 Network.
Alex has published academically and produced several agribusiness incubation models and handbooks. Alex is visiting lecturer in international Universities in Africa, USA, China and Europe .He is Founding Member of Agribusiness Value Chain Development Network, Afri Banana Products Limited, International Centre for skills and Talent Development and Sponsor Ariho cup and founding member Africa Women Incubation and Innovation Hub.
