From 5 to 9 September, 2,735 delegates from 74 countries across the globe gathered in person at the AGRF 2022 Summit in Kigali, Rwanda, to discuss how African agriculture can be transformed to address vulnerability to economic shocks and make food production safe, nutritious and, most importantly, sustainable.
This year’s theme was Grow. Nourish. Reward. Bold Actions for Resilient Food Systems. It heralded a call for faster action to build a more resilient and sustainable agricultural system across the continent while seeking to improve efficiencies through innovation and technology.
The AGRF, Africa’s premier forum for driving the food and agriculture agenda in the continent, will host its 12th annual summit under the theme Grow. Nourish. Reward. Bold Actions for Resilient Food Systems from September 6 -9, 2022 in Kigali, Rwanda.
The African Agribusiness Dealroom at the AGRF 2021
The African Agribusiness Dealroom is a year-round matchmaking platform at the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) with the aim of catalyzing new business deals, partnerships and commitments. It hosts agribusinesses on the continent, providing an investable pipeline to a wide range of investors.
The AGRF 2021 Summit was, as it is each year, a critical gathering of global and African voices on the vital topic of sustainable and resilient food systems.
AGRF 2021 Summit Report : Pathways to Recovery and Resilient Food Systems
From 7 to 10 September 2021, over 8,400 delegates gathered at the AGRF 2021 Summit in Nairobi, Kenya and virtually, to call for and plan action on building resilient food systems in Africa.
The AGRF 2021 Summit was a critical gathering of global and African voices. Designed to outline, discuss and validate commitments to, and accelerate action towards ending hunger, reducing poverty, and improving nutrition by 2030.
The AGRF pathways and priorities towards the UNFSS
Under the banner “Pathways to recovery and resilient food systems”, The African Union, and other stakeholders from private sector and governments met during AGRF to validate priority actions that would lead to ending hunger, reducing poverty, and improving nutrition by 2030.
Session objectives: Better understand private sector various roles in the rural climate financing value chains, Identify constraints and opportunities for boosting rural climate finance in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Objectives: E-Extension services have a direct contribution to increased capacity to generate, analyze and use data and innovations to accelerate recovery and resilience of food systems. E-Extension: Accelerating Building Back Better will explore emerging issues, best practices and evidence in digital extension as a key driver in transforming food systems for sub-Saharan Africa.
